Canadian Standard Freeness Tester is used for the determination of water filtration rate of water suspensions of various pulp, and expressed by the concept of freeness (CSF).The filtration rate reflects how the fibers are after pulping or finely grinding.Standard freeness measuring instrument is widely used in the pulping process of paper making industry, the establishment of paper making technology and various pulping experiments of scientific research institutes.

It is an indispensable measuring instrument for pulping and paper making.The instrument provides a test value suitable for production control of pulverized wood pulp. It can also be widely applied to the changes of water filtration of various chemical slurry in the process of beating and refining. It reflects the fiber’s surface condition and swelling condition.

 Canadian standards freeness refers to that under the prescribed conditions, using to test the water slurry water suspension performance of 1000 mL the content is (0.3 + 0.0005) %, temperature is 20 °C ,  the volume (mL) of the water that flowing out of the instrument’s side tube means the values of CFS. The instrument is made of all stainless steel, has long service life function.

The freeness tester consists of a filter chamber and a measuring funnel that shunting proportionally, it is divided mounted on a fixed bracket. The water filtration chamber is made of stainless steel. At the bottom of the cylinder,there are a porous stainless steel screen plate and an airtight sealing bottom cover, connected with a Loose-leaf to one side of the round hole and tightly fasten to the other side. The up lid is sealed, when open the bottom lid, the pulp would flow out.

The cylinder and the filter conical funnel are supported by two mechanically machined bracket flanges on the bracket respectively.
