The principle of the sealing performance test for flexible packaging mainly involves creating an internal and external pressure difference by vacuuming and observing whether gas escapes from the sample or if there is a shape change to determine the sealing performance. Specifically, the flexible packaging sample is placed in a vacuum chamber, and a pressure difference is formed between the inside and outside of the sample by vacuuming. If the sample has a sealing defect, the gas inside the sample will escape outward under the action of the pressure difference, or the sample will expand due to the internal and external pressure difference. By observing whether continuous bubbles are produced in the sample or if the sample shape can fully recover after the vacuum is released, the sealing performance of the sample can be judged as qualified or not. This method is applicable to packaging items with outer layers made of plastic film or paper materials.
